Household Habits for Healthy Waters Programs

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), the Geauga County Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District, and the Geauga County Storm Water Task Force invite you to attend the Household Habits for Healthy Waters program.

Do you have skeletons (or at least skulls and crossbones) in your closet? Then join us for a unique opportunity to learn how to “clean up and green up” your home. We will identify common household products that are potentially hazardous and learn proper techniques for their storage and disposal.

Participants will also create a nontoxic household cleaner to take home! From batteries to butane, cleansers to chlorine, and paints to pesticides, you will be on your way to making a “Home Safe Home.”

Choose from one of two programs being offered:

Wednesday, October 1, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Chester Township Fire Rescue
(8552 Parkside Drive, Chesterland, Ohio 44026) or
Thursday, October 9, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Bainbridge Township Fire Station
(17822 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023)

All are welcome to this free and informative program. Light refreshments and “green giveaways” will be available. Don’t miss this chance to de-tox your digs and protect your posse!

For more information and to register for the program, please call 440-834-1122 ext. 2 or email

Registration is required and the deadline is Monday, September 29.
