At iSTEM Early College, students are encouraged to think, grow, and be—preparing for their futures through an innovative approach to education. As one of Ohio’s seven Independent STEM Schools, iSTEM provides students in grades 6-12 with a unique learning environment that blends STEM-focused education with real-world problem-solving.
Since its founding in 2015, iSTEM has been committed to removing barriers to higher education by offering students the opportunity to earn college credit—completely free of charge. Many students even graduate with an associate degree along with their high school diploma. Additionally, iSTEM students interested in career and technical training can attend Auburn Career Center to explore hands-on career pathways.

A Strong Commitment to Community
Community engagement is a key pillar of iSTEM’s mission. All students are required to complete volunteer hours before graduation, often collaborating with local organizations to make an impact. iSTEM partners with institutions like Lakeland Community College, Lake Erie College, United Way, and more to provide unique learning opportunities.
A Culture of Innovation & Giving Back
iSTEM students don’t just learn about innovation—they put it into action. A recent initiative saw students collect and donate over 1,165 boxed food items, incorporating a design challenge where the boxes were set up like dominos before donation—showcasing both creativity and generosity.
