Jayce Hein, Brian Desveaux at Iron Horse AND Hiram College!

This is the weekend! And the Iron Horse Saloon in Burton is the place to be on Friday night for the exciting release of Jayce Hein’s first album, Small Town Summertime. Download his single now and be ready to sing along as Geauga County welcomes back her Middlefield homeboy.

This totally transformed singer/songwriter, now living in Nashville, is pretty pumped about being back among friends for this debut album. He’s also bringing along friend and fellow musician Brian Desveaux from Nine Days who is best known for his #1 Billboard hit Absolutely (Story of a Girl). What a fantastic combo!

Jayce Hein

You’ll see a much more relaxed and mobile Jayce on the stage this time. Having transitioned from fat to fit over the past year, he now feels, “People take me more seriously. I’m much more comfortable up front. Whereas before I would only play out locally in Nashville every now and then because I was so self conscious, now I enjoy it so much more. People have even commented how my voice has changed and improved.” He has received calls from Georgia, Texas, and other states inviting him to come and play as a result of the airing of his Extreme Weight Loss show in June.

But what if you can’t make it to Friday night’s show?

Get to Hiram for a Saturday night benefit concert!

Jayce and Brian will be on stage for a second performance, a benefit concert, at Hiram College in the Martin Field House at 7 pm. The Huskie Nation Foundation is hosting the concert. They are raising funds for the upgrade of the track, turf, and lighting at the Cardinal High School in Middlefield. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Foundation. If you’re a Cardinal alumni, you’ll want to show your support for both the school and Jayce and support their efforts.

Tickets for the Huskie Nation Foundation show on Saturday can be purchased at Maggie’s Doughnuts in Middlefield and Hiram, Cortland Bank in Windham, and Century 21 in Garrettsville. Click HERE for more info on that show.

Jayce has been sharing with us the lyrics and background to each of the songs on his new album. I’m Down is next up.

“Blake Shelton was recording his new project a few months back and he sent a text to my friend and co-writer Buddy Owens and asked him to send him some songs. I got together with Buddy and Jeremy Bussey a couple days later and we wrote this with Blake in mind. Buddy ended up getting a song on the new Blake album, but this one was passed on.”

I’m Down

Written by Jayce Hein/ Jeremy Bussey/ Buddy Owens

I know it’s Friday night, don’t know what you had in mind.
I know that neon’s glowin’, but hey baby I was hopin’
You and me, could grab a drink right here.

CHORUS:

Let’s get away, girl what ya say, we rock it out at the house, get a little rowdy without the crowd.
Let’s lock the door, you know what for.
Let’s just stay home and go to town, if you’re up for that, I’m down.
Na Na Na Na Na Na

VERSE 2:
You turn the lights down low, I’ll spin that old-school slow.
That bed’s sure lookin’ lonely, let’s make it nice and cozy.
Light it up, make love, if that sounds good, then I’ll tell ya what.

CHORUS:
Let’s get away, girl what ya say, we rock it out at the house, get a little rowdy without the crowd.
Let’s lock the door, you know what for.
Let’s just stay home and go to town, if you’re up for that I’m down.
Na Na Na Na Na Na
