Jerry Welch has been a part of the Burton community since he was a child. During that time he has made an impact on all of us. Jerry shovels sidewalks around the church every winter, helps the fire department with pancake breakfasts, cleans up garbage after every football game, cleans the baseball fields, helps the Shrine, and he is always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs help.
A Neighbor in Need
Now Jerry needs us! The Burton community and Burton’s ‘Party for a Purpose’ (a local fundraiser) are joining forces in an effort to help fix up Jerry’s house at 13740 Spring Street in Burton Village. (Click HERE to see the Jerry’s house before volunteers started.)
On August 4 and 5, volunteers from around the community stepped forward to help start the work on Jerry’s house. They completed scraping paint and rebuilding the front porch.
On August 11 and 12, nearly 50 volunteers came to Jerry’s house and were able to rebuild the back porch, fix and repair siding, and get almost all the painting complete!
We will be there again on September 22 to work on Jerry’s house. Please join us if you would like to volunteer.
There are still many more repairs to Jerry’s house that need to be made and we need YOUR help!
