Moths come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and a diversity of them is quite a pleasure to behold. For one of the most awesome late-night eyefuls around, head out to The West Woods’ Affelder House for Amazing Moths on Saturday, June 30th, 10:00 p.m. to midnight.
Teaming up with other moth experts to provide you with a truly exceptional experience, Geauga Park District Naturalists Tami Gingrich and Linda Gilbert will use mercury vapor and black light stations to attract a wide variety of beautiful moths and other fascinating insect species to locations around this deeply wooded area.
Naturalists call this one of 2018’s Nature’s Not to Be Missed opportunities, so don’t miss it, and don’t forget your flashlight and camera! Registration is not required. Although easily accessible, activities will not be appropriate for wheelchairs or strollers.
The Affelder House is located within The West Woods via a separate drive at 15139 Chillicothe Road; follow the drive all the way back. Please call 440-286-9516 with questions.
