Junction Auto Sales, located at 12423 Mayfield Road in Chardon, participated in a friendly competition between the GM and Chrysler divisions, all to benefit needy families in Geauga County.

For the second year now, Junction Auto Sales has participated in the Chrysler “Stuff the Van” promotion filling up a van with canned goods and toys to give to needy families during the holidays.

Ann Cottrill, of Junction Auto Sales, decided to make it into a competition between the two divisions, “Stuff the Van” for the Chrysler Division and “Stuff the Truck” for the GM Division.

On Thursday December 11, Sara Shinniger, Geauga County Job and Family Services (JFS), came out to Junction Auto Sales to judge the winner. Shinniger is in charge of the “Sponsor-a-Family” program that provides food and gifts to low income families, Geauga County foster children and seniors in Geauga County.

Geauga County JFS has coordinated the Sponsor-a-Family Program during the holiday season for more than 40 years. Churches, civic groups, organizations, companies, and individuals participate in the program by choosing to either “sponsor” a family for the holidays, or they can help collect needed items which are packed and delivered to families not matched with a community sponsor.

Both divisions did such a good job that Shinniger could not decide on a winner and declared a tie.

“In the end, everyone wins”, says Cottrill.

Thank you Junction Auto Sales for giving back to the community.
