“The Mission of the Red Tulip Project is to provide a sober, safe and ‘smart’ environment for women on a path to independent living in Geauga County.”
On Friday, October 20th a memorial bench in memory of Leadership Geauga alumnus and Red Tulip House board of director Jim Dvorak’s daughter Jamie Marie will be presented as a gift from the Leadership Geauga 2017 class to be placed on the grounds of the property. Jamie was a nurse, who passed away on February 1, 2017 after losing her battle with addiction. The 15 – 20 minute program will run from 2:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Red Tulip House, Claridon Township (At the corner of Rt 322 and Clairdon Troy Rd, 44024; next to the Clairdon Town Hall)
October 22, 2017 would be Jamie’s 36th birthday.
Jamie loved butterflies and cats.
Jamie’s sister, Becky Camposo, reflected on her sister during a July 15th groundbreaking ceremony. “Whenever I do see a butterfly, I do think of my sister, checking in and watching over us,” Camposo said. “Butterflies are beautiful and are a symbol of endurance, change, hope and life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls and Jamie most definitely had a beautiful soul. She loved everything that could fly because it represented freedom and hope.”
