Lit Cleveland is pleased to announce the schedule for our 3rd annual Cleveland Inkubator taking place July 24th-29th! This year’s program, in partnership with Cleveland Public Library, features a week of classes, readings, performances, a book swap, and a day-long literary conference on July 29th! June’s edition of “Between the Lines” features celebrated authors Aubrey Hirsch and Karyna McGlynn! Join us at Happy Dog Euclid to see Aubrey and Karyna read from newly published work, discuss their approach to writing, and take questions from the audience.
Who We Are, Where We Live submissions
Lit Cleveland is seeking submissions of stories, essays and poems written by people who live and/or work in Buckeye Shaker, or have personal ties to the community. Selected works will be published in an online anthology on the Lit Cleveland website. Writers will also be invited to a final reading and celebration. Turn Up the Creative Energy w/Laura Grace Weldon (Free!)
Saturday, July 8th, 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., CPL Jefferson Branch, 850 Jefferson Ave., Cleveland
A free full-day workshop that applies research on creativity to expand our writing practices, share ideas about enlivening our current projects, and engage in playful writing exercises across many genres to loosen up our imaginations. Writers of all levels, backgrounds, and genres welcome.
Creating Zines and Poetry Broadsides w/Damien Ware (Free!)
Saturday, July 8th and July 15th, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at CPL Rice Branch, 11535 Shaker Blvd, Cleveland
Learn how to independently publish your own poetry by creating zines and poetry broadsides! Participants will use basic desktop publishing tools. Open to teens 14-18 and adults. Writers of all levels and backgrounds welcome.
