Franco’s Pizza is getting a dose of local starting November 1, 2013
On Friday, November 1, the Sirna family, who grows their own produce just two miles south down the road on St. Rt. 44, will be taking over the operation of Franco’s Pizza and implementing local ingredients.
“I’m very excited to add to the menu,” says Kaitlyn Sirna who is running the shop. “My mom Anne and I love cooking so I’m sure we can create some great new items.” But, she claims, “first on the priority list is to master the never before released recipe of the ‘original’ Franco’s Pizza.”
Franco’s Pizza has a national award winning pizza which has yet to be released at the Auburn Shop. Aside from the winning national competitions, the pizza has competed internationally in Italy and France. From the success of the recent national competition in Las Vegas, Franco’s Pizza has been invited to compete in Italy in the spring of 2014.
If you know the Sirna family, you know they’re into local. Their farm stocks only Ohio products. Franco’s Pizza, owned by Localicious, LLC, hopes to follow a similar suite. Craig Sirna is eager to put his homemade family recipe of Italian sausage on the pizzas. It’s wholesome, homemade, a family recipe, handcrafted in small batches, and best of all – ALL OHIO.
Combine a local family, that has a great reputation, with local home grown toppings and wholesome additions to the menu, and Franco’s Pizza is sure to succeed!
