Meet Your Merchant ~ Auburn Pointe Greenhouse

Mid summer is a wonderful time to experience the gorgeous colors, varieties, and fragrances of the multitudes of flowers that are in full bloom. It’s one of those things that is easily taken for granted unless, of course, you are a gardener who has put oodles of hours into the beautifying of your home and landscape. One such lover of all things green and growing is Louise Reiling, owner of Auburn Pointe Greenhouse.

Auburn Pointe

Louise is an Ohio State University graduate with a degree in horticulture. She opened Auburn Pointe Greenhouse 21 years ago to share her passion for plants. “I love growing plants and helping people pick the right plant for their situation,” she shares. Her desire is to offer beautiful plants and flowers in a natural setting combined with friendly, knowledgeable sales people to make your shopping experience most enjoyable.

We grow most of our own plants. We carry a large selection of annuals, herbs, perennials, tropicals, and shrubs. We love to offer new and different plants, as well as the old favorites. Our staff are friendly, knowledgable gardeners!”

What if you want something special and just can’t find the right gift? There’s really nothing quite like a fresh cut flower bouquet! Flowers are picked from the gardens on the property and include herbs, perennials, and garden flowers such as zinnia and lisianthus, giving the bouquets a natural look. You also might find a little something in their charming gift shop. Seasonal merchandise, notecards, candles, and unique items make great gifts for gardeners.

Fresh Cut Bouquet

Perhaps you’d like to try something new in the garden realm or enjoy some ‘green‘ time with other garden enthusiasts. Auburn Pointe holds many workshops throughout the year that are both fun and informative. Workshops coming up this summer include making a cut flower arrangement with garden flowers, making hypertufa containers, and secrets to growing beautiful hydrangeas.

One of Louise’s favorite events is just a few days away. “On July 26 and 28 we will be having our 6th annual Midsummer’s Night Garden Event. Held in the evening from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., it includes a delicious feast. This is a truly magical and memorable evening that features the sights, sounds, fragrance, and lighting of a moonlight garden. Plants that come into their glory in the evening hours are featured in the moonlight garden vignettes that are throughout the property. You will take home beautiful decorating ideas as well as two complimentary plants for your own moonlight garden.” Reservations are required and the cost is $50 per person.

Midsummer Event

If you belong to a garden club, you may be interested in hosting a workshop or having a speaker share with your group. Auburn Pointe would be happy to accommodate you at their greenhouse or at your meeting place. Hosting your holiday party in December in their beautifully decorated greenhouse would be a real treat as well! Although it may seem far off, winter will be here before you know it! “We offer special pricing on poinsettias, Easter lilies, bulbs, and other flowers for your holiday decorating,” says Louise. They will also care for your tropical plants for the winter months. Call 440-543-7455 for pricing.

Don’t let the summer get away without a visit to this beautifully decorated greenhouse. Call Louise or one of the staff for more information about the summer workshops at 440-543-7455, or visit them at 10089 E. Washington St. in Auburn Township, just three miles east of Rt. 306. You can also find them online.
