Nature Explorers programs are held for kids in two age groups – 6 to 8 and 9 to 11. This season’s offerings are:

Nature Explorers: The Bear Facts on Friday, October 18, at The Rookery

Nature Explorers: Wildlife Tracking on Friday, December 27, at The West Woods

Speaking of The West Woods, Junior Girl Scouts can work on requirements there for their geocacher badges on Saturday, October 26, while Webelos can work on requirements for their Geologist Achievement on Saturday, November 16.

With the new indoor exhibit landing there in November, home schoolers ages 5-8 and 9-12 are invited to explore “Something’s Afoot: Nature Just Can’t Stay Put” on Friday, December 13, with fun, naturalist-led lessons on plant and animal movement.

And finally, to squeeze in some bonus time with Grandma and Grandpa, The West Woods Nature Center also is gearing up to host Grandparents in the Park: New Year’s Eve Nature Celebration on Tuesday, December 31. There will be fun activities, snacks that everyone brings to share, and even a “toast” at 12:00 (noon)!

Registration is required for Timbertots, Nature Explorers, scouting, home school and grandparent programs. Also visit the website or call 440-286-9516 with questions.
