On Oct. 30, NDES sixth grade students participated in a service project for The Gathering Place. The Gathering Place is a non-profit, community-based cancer support center that addresses the social, physical and spiritual needs of individuals with cancer, their families and friends.
The students crafted pink fleece pillows for breast cancer patients who visit The Gathering Place. Lisa Newburger, a volunteer for The Gathering Place, presented a video and talk regarding the important work they provide to breast cancer patients.
