New Year’s Afternoon

Celebrate together as grandmas, grandpas and grandkids

Grandparents, are you looking for a fun way to celebrate the coming of a new year of fun with your grandchildren? Join Geauga Park District and Naturalist Nora Sindelar for some fun nature activities and snacks, including a “toast” at 12:00 (noon)!

What: Grandparents in the Park: New Year’s Eve Nature Celebration!

When: Tuesday, December 31 – 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: The West Woods Nature Center
9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87), Russell Twp.

Registration is required online or by calling 440-286-9516 for this free program, which will be entirely indoors and wheelchair/stroller accessible. Guests are only asked to bring a snack to share with the group; beverages will be provided.

Since 2004, Geauga Park District has offered special programming during all major school breaks when grandparents are typically watching their school-aged grandchildren, providing great incentive to get out into the parks.

Now the West Woods Nature Center is also home to the new Something’s Afoot: Nature Just Can’t Stay Put exhibit, packed with hands-on interactive stations focused on how Nature moves. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Check it out while you’re in the neighborhood!
