Top Honors for Speech and Debate

Congratulations to Sophomore Tia Speece, who tied for third place in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Junior Anna Soryal who came in sixth place in Informative Speaking at the Ohio High School Speech League State Tournament.   The team was coached by Stephan Voudris.

International Festival

Third graders at Kenston’s Timmons Elementary School have been expanding their knowledge about the world. Each student researched a country and shared their knowledge with family and friends at the Annual International Festival. Students dressed in costume and provided native food. Anthony Okeafor researched France.

KMS wins County Art Honors

Students in the Kenston Middle School art department distinguished themselves at the Lake-Geauga Counties Secondary Art Awards held at Lakeland Community College this month. Of the over 700 pieces initially entered for consideration from across both counties, only 400 were selected for the show.

Seven middle school students were honored. Seventh grader Alex Prodan was recognized with Best of Show honors. Jocelyn Decaro, Kate Haynes, Malcolm Linder earned blue ribbons.

Receiving gold awards were Alexa Busby, Skylar Cinch and Emma Gaskin. They are students in Kelly Seitz and Liz Vejar-Olwert’s art classes.


Kenston Center Stage is pleased to present “Footloose” on Friday, March 24th, Saturday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, March 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the Kenston High School Auditorium. Tickets are on sale through the KHS website. Tickets are $14.00 for mezzanine, $12.00 for floor and $10.00 for the balcony.
