Andy Puzder comes from humble beginnings growing up in a working class community in Russell Township in Geauga County.  Through a chance encounter when he was 10 years old, he learned that he too could create his own American Dream and become whatever he wanted to be. And today he is living that American Dream.

After graduating from West Geauga High School, he attended Kent State University, eventually earning a degree in History from Cleveland State University. Tapping into his strong work ethic, he earned  his way through college and law school, while supporting his family by working construction, landscaping, and painting houses. He attended Washington University School of Law in St; Louis receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1978. While in St. Louis, Puzder met Carl N. Karcher, the founder of the Carl’s Jr. quick-service restaurant chain who was embroiled in serious financial difficulties. Puzder became Karcher’s personal attorney and is credited with resolving Karcher’s financial dilemma, which allowed Karcher to retain a significant ownership interest in the company he founded, CKE Restaurants. He held key leadership positions with Fidelity National Financial, and is credited with turning around CKE and Hardee’s Food Systems, attaining the role of CEO of CKE Restaurants. Over 16 years, CKE grew to an international quick-service food organization that owned and franchised more than 3,800 restaurants in the United States and around the world under his leadership.

To Andy Puzder, the American Dream is alive and well in this great country of ours. Highly respected in the Food service industry, he is also a published author and guest speaker on economic and legal issues and on the impact of government regulations on corporations.
