“Whether you want to head out with a pair of binoculars to look for some of the parks’ many species of birds, spend a quiet afternoon with a picnic and a book, or fish from a pier overlooking a breathtaking lake, there is something for just about everybody’s interests,” said Dianna Rom, regional director of sales and marketing for Ohio State Park Lodges. “We value AARP members, and we strive to offer a rich, memorable experience that those members will appreciate.”

Deer CreekThe five Ohio State Park Lodges operated by concessioner Xanterra Parks & Resorts are located throughout the state and within an easy drive of major cities in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Salt ForkAll of the lodges are located in picturesque parts of the state, but each has its own special appeal. Maumee Bay, for example, is on Lake Erie and appeals to both walleye fishermen and golfers who like a traditional links-style course. Punderson’s manor house features an elegant approach, while Mohican and Deer Creek offer expansive views of their lakes. Salt Fork is located in the hills of eastern central Ohio surrounded by a lush forest. All offer the creature comforts that so many people appreciate after an active day.

Maumee BayThe lodges and parks offer a wide array of fun activities that are appealing to vacationers of all ages. Because there are so many recreational offerings, Ohio State Park Lodges are a great choice for multi generational groups seeking destinations with choices for every member of the group, no matter what their interests. Birding is a particularly popular activity, and it is common to see groups with two or three generations walking along nature trails, binoculars in hand. The parks also feature boating options from pontoon boats to canoes, and miles of hiking and cycling trails.

Rates for the AARP package start at $131.49 per night at Mohican; $132.49 at Salt Fork; $138.09 at Deer Creek; $148.66 at Maumee Bay; and $154.09 at Punderson Manor. To access individual park websites, click HERE.
