Newman began working on the book 10 years ago, but suffered a stroke three years later. He picked it up again in the years during his recovery, not letting the dream slip away. “I had so many people involved in it and I really wanted to tell this story,” he says of his historically accurate tale, adding that the murder and plot are fiction.

Newman has served on the Geauga County Public Library Board for 26 years. In addition to his other three books (Nine from the Ninth; Joe B; and The Geauga Bicentennial Journal), he has produced 10 books of photography and is known in northeast Ohio as an accomplished photographer. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, one with the 82nd Airborne and the second in the 9th Infantry Division as a Ranger.

This event is free and open to the public.
