Rescue Village is holding its annual Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the shelter, 15463 Chillicothe Rd, Novelty.

Rescue Village enables over 400 volunteers to help animals in need and give back to the community. Prospective volunteers will have a chance to visit booths highlighting different opportunities. Staff and current volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and provide tours of the shelter. Attendees can also visit the General Store to purchase a Rescue Village t-shirt or stop at the bake sale to purchase goodies to benefit Rescue Village.

Rescue Village is expanding our foster program and is looking forward to the Volunteer Fair as a way to add new foster families. The Foster Care station will showcase puppies or kittens and attendees can talk with current foster care volunteers or the foster coordinator to get a better idea of what is involved.

If you are interested in becoming a Rescue Village Volunteer, plan to stay at the fair for about an hour. No registration is required.

Applications will be accepted the night of the fair for all volunteer positions, including Dog Walkers, Cat Cuddlers, Puppy Care, Event Volunteers, Greeters, Office and Welcome Desk Assistants and more.
