Visiting Santa Claus at the Geauga Theater on the Square in Chardon has become a holiday family tradition for many area residents.
Santa will greet visitors of all ages from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12.
In addition to giving Santa their Christmas lists, children can make holiday crafts, decorate cookies, and enjoy hot chocolate, with plenty of hot coffee for parents. There will be face painting, Christmas bingo and more for youngsters of all ages.
“This is one of our most cherished events,” said Julie Douglass, coordinator of the annual theater program which is offered free to the community with help from local businesses such as Wal-Mart and Just 4 Kidz. She continued, “It is such a joy to see Santa spend quality time with each child. The atmosphere is festive and relaxed. Many families spend an hour or more playing Christmas bingo, eating cookies, or making an ornament for their tree.” Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras for photos with Santa
Also, don’t miss your chance to also see a wonderful holiday production, Mary Poppins. The show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Dec. 20. Tickets can be obtained online or by phone. You can reach the box office at 440-286-2255.
