Since 2001, Small Hands Big Dreams Learning Center has been dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and a comprehensive preschool curriculum that prepares children for kindergarten and beyond. What started as a heartfelt mission by a husband-and-wife team has grown into a trusted network of five learning centers across Akron, Bainbridge, Brunswick, Kirtland, and Mentor, each fostering a nurturing and engaging environment where children thrive.

The center’s all-inclusive approach takes the stress off parents by providing everything from diapers, wipes, and formula to meals, snacks, swaddles, and sunscreen. Parents also have live-stream video access, offering peace of mind by allowing them to check in throughout the day.
“We know the early years are the most formative—and sometimes the most challenging—so we strive to create a supportive partnership, a home away from home for children, families, and staff,” says Engagement Ambassador Brittany Ross. “Our goal is to help children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning while ensuring they feel happy, confident, and ready for the next step in their journey.”

The heart of Small Hands Big Dreams lies in its child-led, collaborative curriculum. Teachers observe children’s interests—what they play with, talk about, and explore—and design lessons around those themes. This makes learning more engaging, personalized, and meaningful. From infants to Pre-K, every child experiences hands-on activities, play-based learning, and real-world exploration that nurture their cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development.
“Our philosophy is simple: learning should be as fun as it is meaningful! We embrace creativity and innovation while ensuring that children are developing key skills that set them up for success,” Brittany explains.

Camp Name Badge Craft Station – Kids can design their own summer camp badge, choosing a fun design, writing their name, and coloring it before wearing it proudly as an honorary SHBD camper!
