Spring Musical Benefit

Raising money for the Geauga Hunger Task Force

Soon the weather will warm for good and the flowers will be blooming. Easter is a great time to take joy in our inheritance of the gifts left from those gone before. We need to share that joy with those in need. The Geauga Hunger Task Force reports that 9,286 visits were made to its seven pantries in 2012. The largest segment of the population that has seen an increase is our senior population.

It is time again for the voices of the Good Tidings Benefit Choir to raise spirits and funds for the Geauga Hunger Task Force. The choir will be performing the Easter sections of GF Handel’s “Messiah”. The two performances of this timeless Oratorio will be March 16 at 7 p.m. and March 17 at 3 p.m. at Notre Dame Chapel, located at 13000 Auburn Road in Munson, Ohio, home of the Sisters of Notre Dame. There is no charge for the performances but a goodwill offering will be taken. Reservations are not necessary. The Benefit choir will also incorporate a celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in music.

The choir is under the direction of Robert Boles and accompanied by Joy Leirer. The fine soloists this season will be Robert Boles, Laura Christian, Sara Hamrick, Sylvia Jurcak, Brenda Moosebrugger, Charles Moosebrugger, and Aubrey Woods. The attendees will also be invited to join in the Hallelujah chorus.

The Geauga Hunger Task Force is a volunteer driven organization that has been in existence since 1977. There are seven food pantries throughout Geauga County that serve the hungry year-round. Please consider attending this wonderful event and extending your neighbors a loving hand.
