The Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) is pleased to welcome Marc Yanko to its September meeting. He will be discussing his musical journey and demonstrating examples of his compositions. This program, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Heinen’s Café, 402 Center Street in Chardon, on Tuesday September 17th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Audience participation is welcome. Marc is a resident of Chardon Ohio. Among his multiple artistic pursuits are playing the acoustic guitar and composing music. He has been playing the guitar since his early teens and has been composing instrumental pieces in his own unique style from his earliest years as a musician. He has played locally with several groups, mostly playing acoustic style folk music and old-time fiddle tunes. He enjoys getting together with other local players for jam sessions and has performed at local music festivals and regional venues such as the Chautauqua exhibit. Marc will be performing his original works as well as standard folk tunes.

He will also discuss the process of composing instrumental pieces for acoustic guitar, as well recording music as an aid to composing. In addition, he will present methods for developing an individual style of playing to make one’s original music unique. The Geauga Arts Network Group is an ad hoc group whose mission is to promote communication, collaboration, and cooperation across all artistic disciplines, for artists living and/or working in Geauga County and surrounding communities. For further information, contact Nicky Bucur at 216-240-1501.
