UH Hospice Training New Volunteers

University Hospitals Hospice is growing and seeking compassionate men and women to join our team as volunteers in Geneva, Conneaut and surrounding areas.

As a hospice volunteer, you can visit our patients in nursing homes, UH hospitals or patients’ homes near your home or workplace, providing companionship, supportive presence or practical assistance such as errands or light housekeeping.  Volunteers do not provide hands on physical care.

Volunteers enjoy flexible scheduling, with choice for day, evening or weekend service.  Individuals, couples and military veterans are encouraged to find out more about how you can be the difference by becoming a UH Hospice volunteer.

In addition to volunteer visitors, we are also seeking volunteers with sewing skills to make hospitals gowns in cheerful prints for our home hospice patients who are confined to bed.

Training classes for new volunteers begins May 10, 6-9 p.m. at UH Geneva Medical Center.

For more information, contact Patsy Brodie at 216-765-2737 or email UHhospice@UHhospitals.org.
