Y’all Gave Jayce Hein from Nashville a Hearty Welcome Home!

“I was surprised at all the support. People I hadn’t seen since I was a kid, people I hadn’t seen in 20 years.” So said Jayce Hein of the hearty welcome he received after his recent concert at the Iron Horse Saloon on October 17.

After several years, a much thinner, much healthier Jayce took the stage with his friend Brian Desveaux that night in celebration of the release of Jayce’s first CD which has eight original songs recorded. They took turns playing their own songs, accompanying one another, and of course included Brian’s #1 Billboard hit, Absolutely (Story of a Girl). The night was an upbeat reunion for many as a good portion of the audience were old Huskie school mates from Cardinal.

“Around Nashville, people are so used to being around music and big name artists that there isn’t the genuine interest in the music and the songs you might be playing. It just doesn’t really phase them; there are so many musicians. It’s hard to get their attention.”

Not so on Friday the 17th! If you were one of the 200 people that were at the Iron Horse that night, then you know how crowded the parking lot was. When Jayce and Brian pulled up about a half hour before the start, they were pretty excited. “I didn’t expect that many. It was pretty cool seeing the lot so full of cars like that!” Some Nine Days fans even drove in from Pennsylvania to see Brian.“There was genuine interest and people were so attentive. They really listened and paid attention. They bought the CD. It was a really great feeling,” says Jayce.

And what a great show they gave! A few comments from the fans present:

“It was a great show! Love the music!!!”

“Kaytlyn was totally impressed and is your newest big fan. She has already played the CD many times and memorized the words to several songs.”

“Was so happy to be there and you sounded and looked awesome. Was so nice to have a quick conversation with Emilee also. And it was great meeting your buddy Brian too. Just an all around great night!!!!”

If you missed out on buying a CD, you can still get one. Message Jayce at his Facebook page and he’ll gladly send one to you. Cost is $10. And you can still download Small Town Summertime as a single from itunes.

Geauga News has been presenting a series of stories about Jayce in anticipation of his appearance and release party. This is song #5 from his new CD along with the background.

“I wrote this with my buddies Greg Barnhill and Steve Pasch. We got together and wrote on a Wednesday morning at our office on Music Row. We finished our first song, and Greg and Steve started packing up. Since we finished the first song so fast, I figured I’d start trying to get a groove going on my guitar. I started playing a little groove, and kept singing, ‘do it like this’ to it. Greg and Steve both said, ‘what is that?’ We immediately jumped on it. Greg had the idea to bring in all the southern states and make it about girls from the south. About two hours later the three of us had ‘Y’all Girls’ written.”

Y’all Girls

Written by Jayce Hein/ Greg Barnhill/ Steve Pasch

Hey Mississippi, sweet magnolia, good god you’re pretty,
Dancin’ on the beach like you own Biloxi.
Hey Alabama, you smash my heart like a roll tide hammer,

Maybe that’s just the break I need; come on turn it up, turn it on, won’t ya.

CHORUS:
Do it like this, yeah, do it like this, get a little So-Co on your lips and kiss me.
Come on and turn that country loose.
Won’t ya do it like that, yeah, do it like that, pink bikini and a Bass Pro cap.
Why ya makin’ it so hard for me to choose, nobody do it like y’all girls do.

VERSE 2
Hey Georgia, you’re as cute as a peach and my mom would adore ya.
Aw, won’t ya let me just take you home.
And hey Tennessee, I wanna be the first in line to volunteer me.
Girl, I’ll let ya play me like a country song; come on turn it up, turn it on.

BRIDGE:
Hey Georgia, you’re as cute as a peach and my mom would adore ya.
Aw, won’t ya let me just take you home.
And hey Tennessee, I wanna be the first in line to volunteer me.
Girl, I’ll let ya play me like a country song; come on turn it up, turn it on.

Three more songs still to share! But you can get the CD yourself and start singing along right now! Just message Jayce at Facebook!
