From late February through Earth Day, you nominated 20 trails to compete. From May 15 through July 31, you voted on those you consider your favorites.
The winners of Geauga Park District’s Top 10 Trails were unveiled at The Great Geauga County Fair, then posted to www.geaugaparkdistrict.org under News & Updates.
Now, to guide you on special explorations of each trail, naturalists are programming monthly Sunday hikes of all 10, beginning Headwaters Park’s Eagle Trail (#4) on October 27, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; The West Woods’ Ansel’s Cave Trail (#1) on November 17, from 1 to 3 p.m.; and Welton’s Gorge’s Gorge Overlook Trail (#2) on December 15, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Registration is not required to join any of these hikes, but terrain and length details are available on our website under Programs & Events, then program type TOP 10 TRAILS.
Independently or with a naturalist, make it a goal to get out and visit every single one of the Top 10 within the next 365 days. We promise you will not be disappointed by the variety of Geauga parks, terrain and wildlife you will encounter!
