Chagrin Falls Middle School February Students of the Month
The mission of the Chagrin Falls Middle School Students of the Month is to acknowledge and reward students for exemplary performance. The students depict Tiger Techniques: Think, Integrity, Grit, Effort and Responsibility. Each month, the seventh and eighth grade teams collaborate and choose a male and female “Tiger of the Month” and the students receive personalized tiger water bottles from the PTO. January’s Students of the Month were Morgan Gerbitz, Tom Wilkinson, Gracie Ryan and Carlo Ricco.
Seventh grader Morgan Gerbitz has shown a tremendous growth mindset in all of her classes. She is not afraid to ask questions and does a wonderful job of participating. When a concept is difficult she pushes through until she understands. Morgan is always friendly and easy to get along with. She is always willing to help others and shows kindness to her teachers and peers.
Morgan works exceptionally hard in her coursework. She is always prepared for class, and her assignments are always done thoughtfully. She is an advocate for her needs, if she has questions, and puts forth tremendous effort every day.
Seventh grader Tom Wilkinson is organized and able to finish many assignments early, giving himself time to help other students and to try extra challenges. He is punctual and thorough with every activity or assignment. He contributes to band class and he is always prepared. Tom saw his fair share of adversity in basketball this year. Unfortunately, injuries are part of the game, but when Tom was unable to play the second half of the season, he supported his teammates and stayed engaged from the sideline.
Eighth grader Gracie Ryan always has a warm smile and offers a hello when you see her in the hallway. She is always friendly and kind to her teachers and peers. One can’t help but feel good when you are around Gracie. She is so positive, thoughtful, and kind. Gracie is very dedicated to her school work and always puts forth her best effort. She works hard, participates and is kind to others. She is a wonderful role model for those around her! Her effort and quality of work stands out in the classroom. Gracie is an amazing cellist in the eighth grade orchestra. She comes to class with a positive attitude and is always prepared for rehearsals.
Eighth grader Carlo Ricco has made really good progress in band this year. Carlo does a great job of self-advocating. He isn’t afraid to ask questions and always does a nice job of showing his kind personality. Carlo is the classroom technical director. He is very helpful, especially with computer difficulties. We enjoy his sense of humor, his hard work and his willingness to help. As a member of the Speech and Debate team, he has spread his wings to try new things which led to placing in the Public Forum category. His love for deep impromptu discussions has also made for many great classroom memories. Carlo has come such a long way from the beginning of this challenging year. He works extremely hard, engages in class and always maintains a positive attitude.
