Join Rescue Village and Adventure Subaru for our first ever “Certified Pre-Owned Pet Adopt-a-thon” on Saturday, October 21st from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The event will be hosted by Adventure Subaru, located on 1991 Mentor Ave, in Painesville, Ohio.
October is “Subaru Loves Pets” month and Subaru dealers across the country are teaming up with local shelters to put on adoption and fundraising events. October is also National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Geauga Humane Society’s Rescue Village hopes to find homes for as many animals as possible at this event and is planning to bring over 20 animals including kittens and puppies who will be available for adoption.
Adoption counselors will be on site and people will be able to take home a new furry family member that very day! Adoption pricing will be standard (see our website for details: Geauga Humane Society’s Rescue Village Adoptable Pets). The first five pets adopted that day will get a take home gift from Adventure Subaru and there will be other give-a-ways for everyone in attendance. A kissing booth and a 50/50 raffle will also be at the event.
Adventure Subaru will be collecting items for Rescue Village leading up to the event including: high value dog treats (any brand of small, soft, strong smelling treat), Purina Cat Chow (blue bag) and / or Kitten Chow (yellow bag), any brand canned cat food, Purina Dog Chow or Puppy Chow, peanut butter, durable dog toys and/or cat toys at their location.
The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year, where they sit waiting to be adopted into a loving home. We are encouraging animal lovers to celebrate Adopt a Shelter Dog Month by adopting a dog from Geauga Humane Society’s Rescue Village.
