Antique Tractor Show of Trumbull County Celebrates 20 Years

The 2014 Antique Tractor Club of Trumbull County’s club grounds located at 1653 Ridge Road, Vienna, Ohio will be the site of this year’s 20th annual tractor show beginning August 15 and continuing through Sunday, August 17.

This year’s show will feature Ohio built tractors and machinery. Some of the companies that will be represented are Silver King, manufactured in Plymouth, Ohio; Leader, manufactured in Auburn/Chagrin Falls; Speedex, manufactured in Ravenna, Ohio; and Huber from Marion, Ohio.

The weekend event kicks of Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with activities all day including members only tractor games. Friday evening at 6:00 the Groundpounders Unlimited, LLC will make the dust fly as they pull their garden tractors. A spaghetti dinner will be served Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Saturday’s events begin at 10:00 a.m. with a performance by the very talented Mean Mary (www,meanmary.com). Mary, a resident of Nashville, could read music before she could read words. At the age of five, with the help of her mother, she wrote her theme song “Mean Mary from Alabam.” The press quickly called her this and she’s been Mean Mary ever since.

Besides singing, writing her own music, and playing 11 different instruments, Mary is the co-author with her mother of four books. Mary performs again at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bring a lawn chair and relax while enjoying Mary’s music.

Sunday starts off with an outdoor church service at 9:00 a.m. followed at 10:00 by another performance by Mean Mary who will entertain one last time at 2:00.

Each day there will be a different large Chinese auction. Winner need not be present. There will also be a wide variety of vendors displaying their wares for sale.

Food will be available for purchase on the Club grounds including a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs or sausage gravy and biscuits served each day from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. The Club’s famous bean soup will also be available.

Admission is $4.00 per person. Children ages 12 and under and exhibitors are free. Friday is Military Day with free admission for military with ID or for everyone with the donation of a bag of non-perishable food for Warren Family Mission.
