Cardinal Middle School Robotics Team Attends AWT Juniorbots Competition!

The CMS Robotics teams had a fantastic showing at the recent AWT Juniorbots Competition. CMS sent two teams – the Silver Flames comprised of 7th graders John A., Kaden M., and Colby T. and the Omega Fighters which included 5th graders Gabriel H., Anna L., and Jamie M., 6th grader Audrey A., and 8th grader Jacob K. The Omega Fighters won their first two matches, lost their third, and then lost their first match in the consolation bracket. They ended the day tied for 9th place out of 28 teams! The Silver Flames went undefeated in the main bracket, and then lost two matches in the semi-finals – they ended up in third place! A big thank you to Anita Marlowe (who also donated screenprinting for team shirts), John Avalon, and CMS teacher Deena Avalon for coaching the students and Avalon Welding and Machine, LLC for donating materials for the bots. Great effort by everyone – congratulations!
