Celebrate Our County’s Birthday at Old Glory Day

The Chardon Square Association, the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Chardon would like to announce the return of Old Glory Day. Old Glory Day is held annually on the historic Chardon Square to provide residents the opportunity to celebrate our country’s birthday. Old Glory Day is made possible each year because of many community groups that contribute to this family friendly tradition in our community.

The tenth annual Old Glory Day celebration will take place on July 4 beginning at 1:30 p.m. and will conclude with a concert by DJ Los at the gazebo. The celebration of our country’s birthday will begin with an opportunity to decorate your bike or wagon for a children’s bike parade around the Square led by the Chardon Fire Department. After the parade, the Rotary Club of Chardon will provide ice cream treats, the Kiwanis Club of Chardon will provide balloons, and there will be games for the kids. Back by popular demand is the Pie Eating Contest for young and old alike. With all the activities, this would be the perfect time to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy.

“The objective of Old Glory Day is to provide fun activities for the whole family that will form new memories for young and old,” said one of the event organizers Marianne Goodwin. “Old Glory Day is a good old fashioned fun day that everyone will enjoy.”

Everyone is encouraged to attend this annual celebration of our country’s birthday and join in the fun. There is no cost for any of the activities.
