Celebrate 50 years of Ohio’s Scenic Rivers Program at Geauga Park District’s Bass Lake Preserve, a designated scenic river site and natural lake on the headwaters of the Chagrin River!
Local resource professionals will be onsite during the Celebration on the Chagrin on Sunday, September 16th, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., to lead a variety of aquatic adventures for the whole family, including canoeing, fishing, strolls through Spring Brook Sanctuary, stream life sampling, and encounters with anticipated sightings of Chagrin watershed wildlife such as Bald Eagles, Osprey and Ohio’s treasured native brook trout, augmented by a display of Bass Lake/Chagrin River wildlife mounts.
This collaborative event is co-presented by Geauga Park District, the Geauga Soil & Water Conservation District, ODNR Division of Parks & Watercraft, the Scenic Rivers Program and many other conservation partners who will be represented with table displays.
Registration is not required to attend. However, advanced registration is required for canoe floats, ages 12 and up, two people per canoe, with basic canoe handling skills required.
