A large crowd was on hand at the Cardinal High School football stadium on Friday, August 17th, to kick off the start of the fall sports and activities seasons! Following the football scrimmage on Moss Field, a Meet the Huskies event was held to introduce all student athletes to fans.
Cheerleading, cross country, football, boys and girls soccer, and volleyball teams from both the high school and middle school were all introduced. Following the Meet the Huskies event, the new lights that were installed at the field over the summer were officially turned on.
The new LED fixtures on metal poles replace the wooden poles that have been in place since the 1960s. Small portions of the wooden poles were kept and rounded off for CHS classes to paint as a way to show school spirit. The new lights were purchased with bond money that the district received in the spring.
Alumni Visit Their Former School
The District was honored to host nine members of the Class of 1958 on Saturday, August 18th for a tour of their old high school, which is the former Cardinal Intermediate School building. The group was in town celebrating their 60th class reunion.
