Chardon Toastmasters Inducts New Executive Board

Club kicks off new year with visit from District 10 Governor

Chardon Toastmasters kicked off its 2013-2014 season with a visit from new district governor Debora Curtis. The award-winning club also inducted two new members, Dave Youdath, and Deborah Kowal. In August, District Speech Champion Terry Begue included Chardon Toastmasters on his practice circuit in preparation for the International Speech Contest being held as part of the 2013 Toastmasters International Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio August 20-23.

The club kicked off this year’s Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contests with a club-level contest on August 15. Pizza and salad accompanied the club’s best humorous and extemporaneous speakers. Juel Leonard, winner of the table topics contest, and Marilyn Harmon, winner of the humorous speech contest, will move on to the Area Contest, to be held at The West Woods, 9465 Kinsman Road, in Novelty on Monday, Sept 23rd. The public is welcome to attend the contest. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 and the contest is scheduled to being at 7:00 p.m.
