Community, Music, and a Mission: Beer & Hymns Event to Benefit SubZero Mission

Music, community, and a meaningful cause will come together on Sunday, March 23, 2025, as Celebration Lutheran Church welcomes the Chardon Polka Band for a special Beer & Hymns event. From 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., attendees can enjoy an afternoon of spirited music while supporting the SubZero Mission, an organization dedicated to helping the homeless stay warm during Ohio’s harsh winters.

A Fun-Filled Event for a Good Cause

This free event, hosted at Celebration Lutheran Church (10621 Auburn Rd., Chardon, OH), promises a unique blend of uplifting gospel hymns and lively polka music, performed in the signature style of the Chardon Polka Band. Known for their energetic performances and ability to put a new spin on traditional tunes, the band is sure to bring excitement and joy to the gathering.

In the spirit of community, Celebration Lutheran Church will provide food and soft drinks, while attendees 21 and older are encouraged to bring a beverage of their choice. Attendees are asked to support SubZero Mission by bringing monetary donations or essential warming items such as gloves, hats, coats, boots, and sleeping bags.

About SubZero Mission: Keeping the Homeless Warm

Winter in northeast Ohio can be brutal, especially for those who lack proper shelter and protection from the elements. SubZero Mission, a nonprofit organization based in Painesville, OH, is committed to helping homeless individuals, particularly veterans, survive the cold months. Their mission revolves around collecting and distributing “Stay Alive Five” essentials—hats, coats, gloves, boots, and sleeping bags—to those in need. With the help of generous donors and community-driven events like Beer & Hymns, SubZero Mission continues to make a real difference in the fight against cold-weather homelessness.

The Chardon Polka Band: Keeping Tradition Alive with a Twist

Music lovers will be in for a treat as the Chardon Polka Band takes the stage. Well-known throughout Ohio and beyond, the band blends traditional polka with modern influences, making their performances both entertaining and unpredictable. From classic hymns to quirky adaptations, their music brings people together in a way that’s both meaningful and fun.

Celebration Lutheran Church: A Place of Community and Service

As the host of this charitable gathering, Celebration Lutheran Church is more than just a place of worship—it’s a hub for community engagement and service. Located in the heart of Chardon, the church is dedicated to fostering fellowship, outreach, and support for local causes. Events like Beer & Hymns are just one of the many ways the congregation brings people together to celebrate faith, music, and giving back.
