After he receives his certification, Gio will join Therapy Dog Coco in providing support to families at the funeral home and in the community. In difficult times, we can all appreciate unconditional affection. As certified Therapy Dogs, Coco and Gio provide comfort and emotional support to families during their grief journey. They love to help and give support to adults and children when attending funeral services or visiting nursing homes, hospitals and schools.

“Coco and Gio love people and are happiest when they are offering their services with love, compassion and friendship. We are very excited to have Gio join our efforts in providing comfort to others during difficult and stressful times. As Gio completes his Good Citizen Training, he will accompany me on occasion to get him socialized to the funeral home,” said Ross DeJohn Jr., Chief Executive Officer and Funeral Director.Gio was born in September 2019 and is a non-shedding, hypoallergenic, Portuguese Water Dog. He was welcomed into the DeJohn family in December. Gio has begun his Good Citizen Training and once complete will begin Therapy Dog training in about a year. Gio loves to run and play, offering a playful energy that only a young pup can share. He also likes driving his sister Coco nuts with his mischievous ways.

Coco is a seven year old, non-shedding, hypoallergenic, Portuguese Water Dog. She was welcomed into the DeJohn family in August 2013. Coco has completed her therapy dog training and has been a member of Therapy Dogs International, Inc. since 2017.
