Here in Geauga County, we now have 25 county parks open to the public – but it wasn’t always that way. In fact just 20 years ago there were only 11 county parks that were open. Today Geauga Park District preserves, conserves and protects the natural features of 10,659 acres, versus only 6,504 in 2000. We’ve come such a long way together!
To learn more about this awesome growth and all the ways Geauga Park District has strengthened its mission to preserve, conserve and protect, and to provide outdoor recreational experiences to residents of every age and ability all times of year, please come out to meet Executive Director John Oros at Orchard Hills Park on Thursday, October 24th, at 7:00 p.m.
“Our management team came together last year to evaluate Geauga Park District parks and the roles they play in contributing to our county,” Oros said. “From that evaluation came three words that can define the success of any organization – accomplishment, responsibility and vision – that also best frame our commitment to you, the Geauga County resident.
In addition to how far we’ve come, Oros also plans to provide some insight into Geauga Park District’s future, including the opening of Welton’s Gorge in 2020!
“We are proud to celebrate the role Geauga Park District plays in making you and your county a great place to live. Please join me in this celebration on October 24th. I look forward to meeting you. Thank you for your continued support!”
