The 3rd Annual The Heartbeat of a Teddy Bear Motorcycle/Car “Ride to the Rainbow” is taking place on Sunday, July 13, 2014.
The Heartbeat of a Teddy Bear was started in honor of three Chardon High School students who were taken away too early. On February 27, 2012, the world seemed to come to a stop in Chardon, Ohio with 911 calls of a reported shooter inside of Chardon High School. A student opened fire inside the school. Three students were killed and three students were injured. An entire community was changed forever.
On September 1, 2012, volunteers from Chardon and local communities pulled together and organized the “Chardon Teddy Bear Run” to honor the lives of those three young boys taken from us.
We are a non-profit organization that delivers teddy bears and other essential items to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital (RB&C) here in Cleveland, Ohio. Please join us at the Chardon Walmart on July 13 at 11:30 am and donate one or more teddy bears to be delivered to the children at RB&C. These must be BRAND NEW Teddy Bears for the hospital to accept them. They can not be attached to motorcycles. If you bring a bear the day of the run, it must be in a sealed bag and free from all the elements. Any bears attached to motorcycles will be donated to local police and fire departments.
The Heartbeat of a Teddy Bear will also be hosting an after party to the Teddy Bear run at Western Reserve Harley Davidson following the delivery of all the Teddy Bears to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Burgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks will be served. Please plan on riding back and celebrating the day of giving back. See flyer below for details.
