Kiwanis Club of Chardon Awards Scholarships

The Kiwanis Club of Chardon is pleased to announce the awarding of our 2016 scholarships. The scholarships that Kiwanis Club of Chardon awards each year are made possible through various activities, which include the sale of maple syrup products all year, a corn roast September, an annual trivia night in the November, and various other events.

This year’s scholarships were awarded at the recent meeting on July 6th held at the Deep Woods Pavilion located in Big Creek Park. The recipients, who were all seniors at Chardon High School or home schooled, included, Mitch Butala, Haley Frank, Hannah Kirchner, Kenny Kirchner, and David Nedrow. About 40 people attended the meeting including the four scholarship recipients, their families, club members, and guests.

The Kiwanis strongly believes that even one person can help their community through volunteering. Each recipient of this year’s scholarships is involved in our community through the participation in extracurricular activities and volunteering.

“Being able to award scholarships is one of the most rewarding experiences of being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Chardon,” said chairperson of the Scholarship Committee Frank Elliott. “The Kiwanis Club of Chardon wishes each student success in their future educational endeavors.”
