The Newbury Legion Post 663 and its Commander Ken Hunter will host Memorial Day Services Monday, May 27 at the Newbury School Auditorium. This indoor program will honor our veterans past and present. Everyone is welcome to attend this memorial service. Let’s support our current veterans and remember those who gave their all for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Our featured speaker will be Colonel Larry Ayer who served our country well in the U.S. Army. Col. Ayer, a graduate of the Army Officer Advanced Course, has held positions at seven military posts and is a registered engineer. He served in Germany as a Tank Platoon Leader and Tank Company Executive Officer. After returning to the United States, Co1. Ayer began a dual career with the Army Reserves and General Electric. He is married to Judy for 49 years. They have three children, all of whom are Newbury High School graduates, as well as five grandchildren.
