The Chardon Schools has partnered with Motorola Solutions, Inc. to implement the SchoolSAFE Solution, an innovative communication method whereby radio communication is easily connected, or “bridged”, and controlled directly between emergency responders and affected school personnel during emergency situations. SchoolSAFE solutions equips school personnel with radio units that will permit first-responders to initiate an immediate bridge to receive on-site information concerning any school emergency.
Superintendent Mike Hanlon says, “We are pleased to have been selected by Motorola and SchoolSAFE for the implementation of this program and appreciate the strong cooperative relationship we have enjoyed with our local government officials and first responders. This positive working relationship and the addition of this newly-developed technology will continue to enhance our ability to offer a safe and secure school environment.”
On Thursday, March 6, 2014, Motorola and SchoolSAFE personnel conducted the interoperability radio training with Chardon Schools staff, area law enforcement, and other safety officers to demonstrate best practices in incident control and management. Having this instant connection with first responders will go a long way to bolster the confidence of our staff who are on the front lines of any school crisis.
