Notre Dame Elementary School has Spirit!

Through the creative and collaborative efforts of our Student Council, parent volunteers and faculty and staff, Notre Dame Elementary School Spirit Week was a Roaring success!

The jubilant week commenced with energetic activities each day and concluded with a vibrant Notre Dame Elementary School Field Day and Walk-a-thon. Each day students dressed up according to the special theme day.  Themes ranged from Hawaiian Day, Twins Day, Favorite Sports Team to Crazy Sock Day.  On Wednesday, the faculty and staff played a competitive game of Kick Ball against our 8th graders, with our 8th graders as the victors!

On Friday, the Lord blessed us with beautiful warm weather for our Walk-a-thon and Notre Dame Elementary School Day. The day began with a pep rally with announcements made by Walk-a-thon Experience Winner, Ellie Bottino. Students, then received a surprise visit from ND Schools, Tuffy the Lion.  Afterward grades K-5 participated in activity game stations and grades 6-8 played a game of Kick ball in honor of Sam Szabo and Colin Boland, beloved students that lost their lives way too soon!

Afterwards, students were treated to Hot Dog and Hamburger Picnic lunch complete with a dance party during recess. Then in the afternoon, students in preschool –  8th grade began the mile walk-a-thon.  The walk-a-thon was a huge success with over $34,000 raised by Notre Dame Elementary School students to support special programs at Notre Dame Elementary School.

We are very grateful to our donors and Walk-a-thon Chair, Mrs. Andrea Murphy and her team of volunteers for making this day a tremendous success.
