How to Make Your Own Homemade Ice Cream
Check out this super simple recipe for making your own ice cream at home. Making ice cream is a great way to keep the whole family entertained without spending a lot of money. Have a fun afternoon at home with your kids or make ice cream during a romantic evening with your significant other.
Ingredients and Supplies:
- 1 tray of Ice Cubes
- 1 cup half-and-half (or heavy cream)
- ½ cup Kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pint size resealable plastic bag
- 1 gallon size resealable plastic bag
Step #1: Pour half-and-half, sugar and vanilla extract into the pint size plastic bag. Tightly seal the pint size bag.
Step #2: Add ice cubes to the gallon size back until the bag is half full. Sprinkle cup of salt so it covers all of the ice cubes.
Step #3: Put the pint size bag inside the gallon size bag filled with ice cubes. Ensure the pint size bag is tightly sealed. Then, seal the gallon sized bag. If you’re afraid the bag might leak, “double-bag” it with another gallon size bag.
