Visit This Exhibit Before It Goes Extinct

All year long, Geauga Park District has been connecting park visitors to the Ice Age in conjunction with Return to the Ice Age, the special exhibit at The West Woods featuring real Ice Age-era bones found in Geauga County.

When the exhibit goes the way of the Ice Age after December 31, so will that programming – at least for a while. That’s why we’re offering one “last blast” opportunity for families to enjoy the year’s most popular Ice Age-themed activities: a genuine “Gifts of the Glacier” pebble collection, a barter game emphasizing materials important to Paleoindian life, the use of ink stamps to make an Ice Age animal scene, a heads-and-tails Ice Age animal matching game, a miniature-scale mammoth excavation revealing signs of Paleoindian butchering, a special appearance by the giant Harry the Mammoth puppet, and cool prizes for children while supplies last!

Family Ice Age Escapades will take place on Sunday, Dec. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The West Woods Nature Center, 9465 Kinsman Road (Rt. 87), Russell Twp.

Registration is not required for this free program – just show up!

The West Woods is located at 9465 Kinsman Road (Rt. 87) in Russell Township and is wheelchair/stroller accessible. The nature center is open daily 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the exceptions of Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas.
